In 1978, cult leader Immanuel David convinced his family to follow him in a devastating act of loyalty, leading to a mass tragedy from the hotel’s 11th-floor balcony. Though remodeled, the hotel retains eerie echoes of its past. Guests report hearing children’s cries and spotting shadowy figures darting through hallways. On the abandoned 13th floor, maintenance workers find lightbulbs unscrewed and mysterious noises.
The Judge Building’s haunting tale is tied to one of Utah’s most infamous crimes. In 1985, stockbroker Steven Christensen was killed in a pipe bomb explosion outside his office on the third floor.
