In the early 1900s, Warren Randall and his wife Virginia moved here seeking a fresh start, but Warren’s railroad accident and resulting despair turned their lives into a nightmare. Their relationship spiraled into violence, ending in a gruesome murder-suicide that has left a lasting mark on the building. Even after the Judd-White House was demolished, locals claim to hear Warren and Virginia’s voices in the night, reliving their tragic end. Mysterious phone calls and eerie sounds continue to haunt those near the building, as though the past refuses to fade.
Visit the haunted Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Originally Sweet’s Hotel, then the luxurious Pantlind Hotel, this historic gem boasts Beaux-Arts architecture—and more than a few spirits. Guests in the oldest wings report unexplained movements, disembodied voices, and the unmistakable scent of a lit cigar lingering in empty hallways. The ghost of Mary Monko, a servant who lost her life in a horrific elevator accident, is frequently seen riding the hotel’s elevators. Visitors have also encountered a young boy’s spirit following them in the corridors and witnessed an ethereal couple waltzing in the ballroom, trapped in an endless dance.
